Hand wrinkles are part of the aging process, but they also develop as a result of poor nutrition, and exposure to damaging UV rays. Pianists, sculptors, and painters cannot afford to have wrinkles on their hands as their hands are the focus of the public eye. But even if you are on an entirely different career path, for as long you are using your hands for whatever reason, there will always be need to be concerned about hand wrinkles. Regardless of your profession, wrinkles are all the same – ugly. They disfigure and they distract. And they are rough to touch. Imagine holding hands with the love of your life or caressing your baby with wrinkled hands!
Hand wrinkles may be imminent with aging, and while it’s true that you cannot stop the aging process, you can smoothen the wrinkles on your hand with these four tips:
Moisturize. The fact that wrinkles have developed means that there isn’t sufficient moisture in your skin. So my first tip to get rid of those wrinkles is to moisturize. Apply generous amounts of hand cream formulated with:
A Cynergy TK, a functional type of keratin that strengthens the tissues underneath the skin and boosts collagen and elastin production.
A Phytessence Wakame, a sea kelp that helps to keep a steady supply of hyaluronic acid in the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is one substance that attracts moisture to elastin and collagen, so having this in sufficient amounts helps to ensure that your skin is not going to get dry and wrinkled.
A Antioxidants. Antioxidants fight free radicals that damage the skin. Green Tea, and the Vitamins C, E, and A, are powerful antioxidants and should be present in your hand cream.
Do the application twice daily, morning and evening, and after doing the laundry or the dishes, or anything that requires your hands to be in the water for long periods of time. Some skin experts suggest wearing hand gloves or socks over your hands after applying some hand cream over them. This locks the essential ingredients in so the skin is able to absorb more of them.
Hydrate with Water. The role of water in skin care can never be belittled. Water keeps the body hydrated and as it does it keeps your skin healthier and younger-looking. Make it a habit to drink a glass or two of water when you wake up in the morning, and then half a glass of water every hour until bed time.
Eat well. I’ve always said this, good nutrition is a must for beautiful skin. If you want to get rid of the wrinkles or delay their appearance, you need to commit yourself to healthy eating habits. Scrap the junk foods and ready-to-eat meals out of your grocery list next time you go shopping. They are packed with calories that you cannot make good use of and artificial and chemical ingredients that damage your internal organs. Eat more fruits, vegetables, and fish as they are high in antioxidants. Include fiber in your diet, too. Being a “sweeper’ of toxins and wastes, fiber has anti-aging properties.
Adopt a good skin care regimen. An ideal skin care regimen includes:
A Keeping your hands cleans by washing them with hand soap that has some bit of exfoliating properties. Wash your hands as often as necessary but not too often as it can dry your skin out.
A Exfoliating once or twice a week. This will remove old and dead skin cells considerably.
A Wearing gloves when you have to go out in the sun. The gloves serve to protect your hands from the harmful rays of the sun.
