Clean your face regularly. I realize this tip seems obvious, but you’d be shocked to learn that studies have shown that up to 80% of people either fail to wash their face, or wash their face properly on a daily basis. It’s important for you to remove the dead skin, oils and dirt that collects on your face each and every day.

Exfoliate. If your dry facial skin as escalated to peeling flakes, then you need to take a wash cloth with a little soap, and rub the dry area completely.

Moisturize. After washing your face, preferably twice a day, be sure to add a moisturizer that is compatible with your skin. Everyone’s face is different and experience different reactions to lotions, oils and chemicals. Find a moisturizer that does just that, and nothing else. If you find your face becoming too oily, or if you experience break-outs, then you need to dry a different moisturizing solution.

Freshen your face with mineral water. Pick yourself up a mini spray bottle at your local Pharmacy and fill it with mineral water. Mist your face and pat dry at least twice a day to keep your skin looking and feeling fresh and moisturized.

Use baby oil. After your evening shower, or facial wash, try massaging your face with a light application of baby oil before you go to bed.

Drink plenty of water. We’ve all heard that drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day is healthy, but did you know that it helps keep your skin moisturized too? Try drinking a large glass of water right before bed and then take notice of how vibrant your face looks in the morning.

Eat foods high in omega-3 fatty acids. Items such as salmon, trout, nuts and flaxseed are omega-3 nutrient rich. Avoid junk foods, carbohydrates and saturated fat intakes because they can increase the risk of skin issues, including dry facial skin.

There’s no need for you to be embarrassed, or feel insecure over the appearance of dry facial skin. Unless you have a medical condition, dry facial skin is avoidable.

The two most important actions you can take to get rid of, or prevent dry facial skin is to wash regularly and apply a compatible moisturizer.
