Help For Facial Warts

Today’s society places high emphasis on appearance. Women and men on television and in magazine’s have flawless skin with no freckles or warts. Imagine opening up your favorite magazine and seeing a model with a wart on his or her face. You would think it was disgusting and wonder how the picture was ever printed. No wonder any one who develops a facial wart panics. It is vain and unfair, but unfortunately, society wants beautiful, perfect people.

Facial warts are not uncommon. You may develop one at some time in your life, but try to take it in stride. With patience, understanding and a good sense of humor, you will survive.

If you have the most common type of facial wart, a flat wart, it may be covered with a concealer. You can find this at any retail shop or drug store. Find a concealer that matches your skin tone, apply and blend it well. For men, this should be all you have to do; women may want to add foundation on top of the concealer. Creams tend to work best when covering a flat wart.

Other types of warts are not so easy to cover. You can use a good concealing cream to lessen the appearance, but the wart will still be visible. Covering the wart with a bandage may work, but you can count on questions regarding what happened. The best way to camouflage a raised wart is drawing attention away from your face. Wear a colorful scarf or creative tie, accentuate your outfit with jewelry or wear your hair in a different style. Others will notice your wonderful, creative flair instead of the wart on your face. Keep in mind also, that people tend to see themselves in a worse light than others. You may look in the mirror and see a three inch wart, while others may barely notice it is there. Do not judge yourself too harshly.

When dealing with a facial wart, home treatments are readily available, but are not recommended. The skin is fragile and some remedies are too harsh and could cause irritation or infection, which may be worse than the wart itself. Doctors can prescribe medication which will dissolve the wart; however, that may take time, as long as several weeks. If you aren’t in a hurry and can deal with the wart, this is your best option.

To rid your self of a facial wart quickly, cryotherapy, which is freezing the mole and cutting it off later, is the best choice. A licensed physician or dermatologist can do this quickly in the office and it requires little healing time. Another option is laser removal. The results are immediate, it is relatively painless and there is little healing time. The biggest downfall in this choice is the possibility of a permanent scar.

A facial wart does not have to be a big stressor. With proper treatment, you will be rid of it and have something to look back on with laughter. Keep a positive attitude and flash your winning smile and you will be fine.
